Distance Learning Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses at Bradford College

Bradford College are offering VIDLEARN™ Distance Learning Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses for a second year following last year's success. Courses include Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology for 8, 16 and 28 weeks of study and Computer Science, Geography, French, Spanish and English for 8 weeks of study depending on your SKE requirement.

SKE courses are intended to boost teacher trainees' subject knowledge prior to ITT to enable successful progression to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). They are particularly useful for those whose academic background omits aspects of their SKE specialist subject at a level necessary for teaching it in secondary schools.

The courses will also appeal to candidates about to embark on secondary PGCE, School Direct or SCITT Programmes.

All of our SKE courses are funded by the NCTL and are therefore free to participants. Additionally, NCTL-funded SKE trainees are entitled to a tax-free bursary. The bursary is dependent on progression at the required rate.

These popular courses are distance learning with a final attended practical module (science only) that are optional but recommended.
